Yakushigama is a product brand of Chugaitoen, a ceramic studio in Seto City, Aichi Prefecture, a pottery town with a history of over 1,000 years. "Fukusuke," characterized by a large head and a topknot, has long been a popular lucky charm for business prosperity. Around this Fukusuke-style beckoning cat are small cats dressed as the "Seven Lucky Gods." Generally, a beckoning cat's right hand is said to invite money, and its left hand to invite people. However, regardless of the hand position, Yakushigama's beckoning cats are also popular as lucky charms wishing for well-being. All products are supervised by the Maneki Neko Museum and are carefully hand-produced by craftsmen.
